Grade 1:
Oral English Language
Teacher’s Book | Learner’s Book
Oral English Language supports the listening and speaking components of the Grade 1 curriculum. Through structured, engaging lessons, learners develop the vocabulary, comprehension and spoken English they need both for literacy learning and for communicating confidently in English.
Grade 2:
Focus on Phonics
Teacher’s Book | Learner’s Book
Focus on Phonics continues the systematic phonics approach into Grade 2. It focuses particularly on the alternative ways that the sounds of English can be written, helping learners develop increasingly secure reading and spelling skills.
The resource has been contextualised for Zambian classrooms and designed to support the phonics content of the Grade 2 English curriculum.

Jolly Phonics Teacher’s Guide
Teacher’s Book
The Jolly Phonics Teacher’s Guide is a contextualised version of the Jolly Phonics programme, developed specifically for use in Zambian classrooms. It provides teachers with clear, practical guidance for teaching the 42 letter sounds and developing the essential early literacy skills of blending, sounding and letter formation.
Developed, piloted and refined in Zambia, the programme has demonstrated strong results. Independent research from the initial pilot found that learners taught using Jolly Phonics made around three times the progress of learners receiving existing literacy instruction.
